Saw one of these at the smithfield show 1995. I thought it was the future and I instantly wanted one. Never made enough to get one. Now its too late, they are all old and tired (me too)

Just as an aside , A chap I know had a race tuned Manx Norton many years ago . He was off duty one day and called in at work for something , parking the bike outside . It created a lot of interest and one of the other fellas asked for a run . Well , yes , says the first chap , but be very careful , it's a beast . Chap no 2 goes outside , gets astride the bike , gives it a few twists on the grip to see what it sounded like , let the clutch in and promptly exited the bike by the back door , the bike shot across the car park and then stopped in a cloud of dust . Fortunately neither the bike nor the chap was badly injured .

Same here carted corn all harvest 1976 as a ten year old but paid as a 14 year old at 42 p an hour bought a Raleigh Olympus from Halfords for £49.95. I have never saved for anything since.

Dad used to grow 10 acres of potatoes all picked by hand.

Used to love picking potatoes as a boy. Then once we were done, they used to take me to the John Lewis toy shop at Blackpool, to spend my earning. I remember a action man, land rover with trailer & the next year action man motorbike with side car. Maybe 8 one year 9 the next not sure.

I do remember 1976 when I was 12 buying 36 rhode Island Red growers with my potato picking money. Did not actually get them till the following May.

Opel manta was a cracking motor
I was madly in love with a young lady in the 6th form and when she passed her test, she used to drive to school in her dad's Manta which was a Bright red H reg, the original with the shark like nose and the duck tail with round rear lights. We had a very happy year or two together but eventually went our own ways at college. Her brother had a newer one, bright orange with Rostyle wheels, very 1970s :)

That was the first and last time I ever got a wage at home it was on my grandfather's farm and next harvest Dad had his own farm and rather than money we went onto a type of barter system such as work all holiday riddling potatoes you get the portable tv you want. When I wanted a car he said he'd sort it. I was muck spreading for contractor ( earning cash for University ) when I saw him and my mum towing my 'new' Chrysler Sunbeam home from an auction.

JCB Fastrac. Then I test drove one and it felt like ploughing with a lorry so I didn’t bother.
If there was one moment in my life where I’d started on my decline and loss of ambition it would be that moment: Mid forties. We’ve got smaller as a business ever since but made more profit.
I look through machinery mags now and they leave me cold.
