EDIT: The 15yr old tractor is a '03 Valtra 8150. Again, bought new.
Our other tractor is an N-reg Ford 7740 with 7000 hours. We bought it 2nd hand in Jan '06.

How do you find the same ? We’ve ours since new. Found things like mirrors , bolt on fixings etc , were made of substandard metals, and rusted easily, but the engine and main tractor itself is well made and reliable. Also a lot easier on diesal then many of its competitors. Think same are very popular on the continent in tillage, as it’s a lighter machine ideally suited to crops.

I've been looking, just looking, at tractors for sale ,second-hand deutz and claas and McCormick seem ok kinda tractors and ones that are 6/8 years old seam a good price, my neighbours bought a deutz last year from Kerr at linlithgow , he was wanting 16 grand for it, it's a 60reg with about 4000hrs, 120 hp, he says it's a great tractor, so why do these make loose so much value?? I kinda wish l had bought it, you don't get much for 16grand theses dayz.

Nothing wrong with deutz, for many people they are the wrong type of green. Great machines.

Not sure where you are but this was listed in south east farmer. Good spec, front pto, loader etc. Worth a call maybe. 100 or 120hp

These old tractors that never break down aren't really doing a lot of hours are they?

I find ours don't break down either when sat doing nothing.

Our old tractors are our ONLY tractors though. And we do all work in hand, no contractors. Roughly 1,000 hours split over the 3 tractors a year.

Sure as hell cheaper to keep those girls going than change for new - which would be nothing but a vanity exercise.
