What's wrong with these tractors

I only wish they'd kept evolving these four-pot ones  I would even put up with liquid cooling if the basic recipe was the same - there really isn't much to fault the basic design on.
And a proper fuel miser, too, I topped up my tank this afternoon after 25 hours and used less than 75 litres, just on silage and scraping as is winter duty.

Where they really shine is on a hill, there are few places you can go with duals and not feel safe.
Any other tractor though

not a hope - too heavy, too tall, too useless.

SAME still make the Explorer.

I know things like SAME's 4 wheel braking and twin difflocks isn't a big selling point for most people, But when you're on a hill farm, it makes a huge difference to working safely, it really took a lot of stress and deaths out of the whole job.
Honestly I still think a lot of other makes are unsafe in comparison, braking through the 4wd is not quite the same safety margin

+1

The true 4-wheel braking should be standard on every tractor.

That was excellent (y) :)

No wonder they beefed up the front wheel centres on our ones!! :D:D:D

Thats a big fault on them, loader tractors always have reinforced plates or ben hur chariot wheels

Does yours do that Pete?:D

I wonder how many times he got it wrong before he got it right
Have had her up on 2 plenty of times, but not 2 on the same side :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I did wonder if they chocked up the front axle a little?

Couldn't agree more.

It only takes that front wheel to start going backwards and the rest is up to lady luck . not a cool situation

The first tractor I bought was a deutz k110 (07 plate) This year. Inherited the running of an ageing family farm and a better tractor was a must after the 20 year old failing masseys. Listed at 19k then added loader new rear tyres and 3 loader implements total cost 23k. It's been flawless. Thouroughly impressed with deutz after barely knowing about them beforehand

At least with a Fendt (Redlynch), Deere (Smarts) or NH/Case (TH Whites) around here you have a dealer network that will put a machine right quickly or at least loan you something in the meantime. I couldn't tell you where the nearest Deutz/SDF dealer was. Valtra aren't bad with Mr Cox down the road, either.

Barnes doesnt do Valtra anymore then?
You’ve also got Lister close for MF/fendt

Deutz agrofarm sought of replaced the exploder, Same front axle which was pretty much bomb proof apart from king pin bearings if they never saw a grease gun, Same agroshift transmission available with power shuttle and deutz engine. Think the 5110 is the more recent model. Neighbour has one, nice little tractor apart from ad blue [emoji24]
