I'm waiting for seed oats and beans to be cut. Apart from 2nd wheats everything else that can be drilled. Is.

Well thats the wb in, wheat next week but with only 2 fields of 2nd wheat itll be a game of waiting for veg land to clear then pull up and drill, then 900 acres of beet to come out to be followed by wheat if conditions allows if not spring barley. So fingers crossed for a decent october november december

It was fss so tested at 97% iirc

The germination %age allowed for seed crops is surprisingly low.

Dressed the last of harvest 2019 wheat for seed. Nice sample. Bit of rain due so will drill grass early this week. But rain will not be awful - it's the intensity that causes the problems. Consolidated seedbeds will drill and dry better than loose "weatherproof" ridges.

That wasn’t tested. Ask me again in 6 weeks!

I chitted some seemed ok drilled it and 95 percent didn’t come up. 12 months old seed I can’t remember the dressing but that’s what’s finished it off.

And they reject malting barley if its below 98% and paying you £130/t for it!

Winter barley seed was about £380/t with dressing.

Yes, 10 degrees cooler from Thursday onwards. I would think anyone who has been pre emming earlier this week and last week may have wasted their money
