Where to buy cows

These made £1000 to £1200 for the best due shortly.
Ones due later on were more like £900 for the best.
On the money really.

Where were they?

A large entry of in calf heifers met a solid trade and within the normal market Mr B Bath of Bude sold in calf heifers up to a top of £1280. A fantastic consignment of both close to calving and autumn calving heifers from Messrs NR & SL Osborne of Bude met keen demand. Close to calving heifers topped at £1320 for ‘Trebarn Frontline Mary’ 7-8 Months in calf and this section of 23 in calf heifers averaged £999. The September calving in calf heifers were well grown and well fleshed heifers and topped at £1120 for a pair of heifers ‘Trebarn Bona Sarah 3’ and ‘Trebarn Destry Ana’ with 35 animals in this section averaging £896.

I'm not that fussed but preferably August calving. That said I won't be totatlly dry this year again so some extra June July milk wouldn't be a bad thing. Importing via who?
Moffat livestock, hoping to go out july time, probably lookin at 1300 ish for ic heifers 1st cross b&w/fleck, unless I get tempted locally before then, few sales coming up in the nxt mnth or so.

I like the look of that black one with the stripe on its head looks smart. Do you think it was one of the shorthorn crosses?
It was a shorthorn cross. They were quite nice. I'm really not liking my heifers this year. Far far to extreme. Gone way to extreme for me.
Next years twists are looking a bit stronger. Roll on fleck x's

Are the Irish cows not favourable to import at the minute? That was the in thing to do back along

Bought a hell of a lot of Irish cattle but trying to buy British if we can.

That's who we've been buying through. Always decent stock but come at a premium and when you talk to serup about cow prices you have to wonder where it all goes.
