Why are they selling up again?
Only if two of you want the same animal. What premium - if any - is there on organic stock right now?
Organic can buy conventional in-calf heifers anywayWhat premium - if any - is there on organic stock right now?
Only if they are kept to organic feed, vet and med for 9 months(?) But near imposssible to get permission to do that.Organic can buy conventional in-calf heifers anyway
There was a cross bred herd sold yesterday from Fletchers about 130 head in total nearly all heifers all calved in the last 3-4 months. Never went myself but heard they were making their money and there was nothing cheap, perhaps lot are hoping for their payments next month. There was a dispersal a fortnight ago of mainly Friesians and Friesian x Shorthorns but again I never went but heard they were making their money’s worth, but not heard of any organic cows going to leek, maybe you know something I don’t?Did I see an orgasmic herd for sale at leek in the next week or two ? @William Mellor

Thank you Sidney
We bought organic cows last September 15th in Exeter, @Sid will know of the sale, all due to calve in October, 2 calved before the end of September, the other 2 have still not calved , both are in calf one looks heavy and may calve in December the other wont calve till january at the earliest.
Any come back on the auctioneer or seller , cows are now well out of our group and we have had to keep them 3 or 4 months dry?

Were they stated as also running with a bull? That will cover the vendor and you're on your own
Big herd from Penparc/Gogerddan area to be sold in the coming months. I think he's selling them at auction over the border. I have a relative who works there, but missed him when he last called in, so got no chance to talk of where they were going etc.just wondering where others on here buy and sell their dairy cows? People seem to think their cows are made of gold sometimes! Others seem to get them for a pittance.
