Does anyone use the cups that fit on end of filter then put a 3/8 or 1/2 drive ratchet on.i bought a set, maybe 20 to remove a filter on a thwaites dumper and use them for everything now and nothing has stopped them yet.

I have one in my kit somewhere that I bought for a certain task, used it a few times on filters it fits. They are as good as anything if used correctly.

The thing with most filter wrenches is you can't always get to the filter properly so if your removing filters from different vehicles you may need a few different wrenches, I don't have one but have used a very large set of pipe wrench for the awkward to get to filters that seems to work best :)

A filter recently beat my belt 1/2 inch filter remover and bought a socket like this to fit the filter, thought it looked flimsy but I was wrong thankfully. Great tools and atleast you have a bit more control as to how tight it goes back on to save the dreaded hammer and screwdriver.

Doing the 3600 hr service on puma, used a socket on the 3/4 ratchet to remove the hyd filter but rather than just unscrewing the canister it’s unscrewed the whole housing 🙈 so had to make this up to separate the 2 bits 🙄

Classic new Holland / case issue they’re supposed too only be fitted basically hand tight but most fitters get carried away and then it’s a major operation too seperate the two and a new one is about £300 iirc

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
