Which front axle for 135

[Pushdyke]

Now then

Down the bottom of the yard is a redundant standen cyclone beet harvester complete with a mf 135 multi power skid unit. I'm thinking about taking the power unit off,this needs several parts including a front axle to make it a runnable tractor.Is there a way to tell which axle it should have. The reg no on the back is E which would make it a 1967 would this be the tractor or the harvester.The serial no on the plate below the steering wheel is F B 16598 . The harvester has power steering could this be fitted to the tractor. Thanks for any help.

A swept axle is a must until 1970 J reg when the scirocco safety cab was added and the axle went straight

Ours is older than that, with a straight axle and def no safety cab when it was delivered.

I think its E reg.

Look at your foot pegs. If they have sockets for radius rods its swept axle.
If not it's straight.

I too am learning something here, never seen a pre 1970 135 with a straight front axle either.. How about some pics @cheggars ?

Judging by your serial no it's a swept axle but send a picture of your front casting and pin
So you will need
Swept axle (center beam + spindle trunnion)
Spindles
Wheels
Hubs
Bearings
Radius arms
Bolts
Steering arms
Ball joints
Radius arm retainer (if missing)?
Pivot pin (if mismissing)
Pin retainer bolt (if missing?
That's the front end sorted
How's the rest of it

Its looks a bit sorry for itself at mo.
No Bonnnet,been taken off to repair damage caused by a lorry backing into it.
Will try to find log book for it to check as number plate missing.

Quite agree, those cyclones will soon be all gone.... I've spent many hours on one of those with a Ford 3000 unit.

Yes we had one with a 135 and a solobeet before that.
