Thinking of having a few pedigree Limousin heifers i am keeping done with AI as they are from our stock bull who I don’t want to part with. Any suggestions that people have used and been happy with? Lodge hamlet would be the one but don’t really want to spend that much, quite like the look of rainbow Simon...

I use genus ai service so any cogent bulls are of limits here anyway, but lodge Hamlet is £13 a straw and the royalty fee £35, I don't do pedigree so never pay the royalty. I don't know what cogent are on but I do get good calves with Hamlet

Im purely commercial so I don’t pay any attention to the royalty fees.

Personally I’d recommend hamlet. Last time I enquired about him there was supply issues but he was in the region of £11.60. Consistent and some of my best have been by him.

dinmore goldcrest is another that I’d recommend. Price is in the mid teens per straw.
If you are a follower of figures then Emslies Galileo might suit. His father Colossus (by Objat) was top of the beef value league

I’ve not got any Tomschoise bulls but I really like the look of lexicon

Can vouch for lexicon - produces hells of calves and seriously easy calving I’m still using him currently. Jet looks like he’s got even more shape again
