Mechanical numpty here, is it possible to fix gas struts once they fail? Rear window won’t stay open so assume the gas struts have failed.
Can they be repaired or do they need to be replaced?

I would imagine you would have to replace it.
Just as a matter of interest we built a drop floor deer crush 30 years ago that has split front doors opened by a gas strut which was a Renault tractor one. Still going strong and must have operated those doors thousands of times

I’d buy genuine ones, I tried getting aftermarket for the back window on my 7710. Both pairs we tried where wrong, one pair was to short and the other slightly to long. I got genuine Deere ones and with the stock order discount they wasn’t much more money !.

Best place to buy replacements?

Google the numbers printed on the existing strut and you should be able to buy the genuine OEM parts without Claas quadrupling the price. Last ones I bought came from RS Components, and were supplied in a 2 pack, which was nice.
