Wool...what will you do with yours...

I don't have any sheep and don't know much about them... but I did buy sheep's wool insulation for the house and it was pretty pricey. Given how little energy is needed convert sheep's wool to insulation (compared to superheating glass or rock for mineral wool), you'd think it'd be cheaper to produce.
How is it converted ? I know an idiot filled his loft straight off the sheep .... didn’t end well.

I don't know the details but it much be regularised and made into the correct thickness. Also treated to prevent infestations.

I got Thermafleece.

U-value was comparable, just cost more than Rockwool. Although at the time (first lockdown), it was the only stuff available.

It had a definite sheepy tang.... I should think 'raw' wool would work but wouldn't take long to go sour.

I got half a sheet of Herdwick wool yesterday but I haven't decided how I'll spend all the money the WB will give me for it.

I also got 3 sheets of Dorset wool but that can go straight to Olann wool tomorrow, as I'll be passing, so I'll cash it straight in.

Perhaps a 10p pick n mix?
:woot::woot::woot:
It's worth more than that - WB are going to pay us 15p/kg for last year's as opposed to 5p/kg for our Lincoln wool.
With their 'bullish attitude'** to the rising maket.....

.....this time next year Rodney.

** maybe that should read 'bullsh!t attitude' :scratchhead:
