A few spits yesterday late afternoon. Enough to just moisten the patio, evaporated in minutes.
Cloudy, cooler but still dry today....... grass seems to me enjoying the cooler and is greening up a bit...

11 mm. so far today still raining steady, still got a bit of wheat to cut and the last of the spring barley. Might just be moist enough to tickle a bit of catch crop in tomorrow. Looks a wee bit unsettled for a few days yet. As much as I would like to complete cereal harvest this rain is damned marvellous.

Unexpected short shower early afternoon in Buxton. Nothing by the look of it up Flash, and there's a fire down the road at The Roaches, brisk wind. Rain forecast for tomorrow thankfully, but believe it when I see it, as it's tended to go up the RHS of the pennines or further west via Macc this year.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
