I am voting outsay what you mean ...don't 'dress it up'....is subsidies the only reason you're voting 'remain'?
you haven't made a profit for 25 years ?I'd say the fruit and veg industry has been where the dairy industry is right now for the last 25 years. I made profit in just one of those years.
I am voting out
but I don't think it will be the garden of eden for farmers that some think it will be

Long, long story. Grew a lot of veg in the reference years in the early 2000's. When Wales went for the historic option, spud and veg ground was ineligible. Unfortunately we gave up veg, to grow corn. Bugger. Why so little?

I was asking the stay ins on this topic....but they seem strangely quiet. I have to confess if I was getting £50k + it would concentrate my mind........it's a matter of public record under the freedom of information act - you can look it up online
Farmers demanded the MMB be broken up saying that competition would bring efficientcies and better milk prices how wrong they were.
Next farmers were eager to sign up to crop assurance when it was first started, they thought it would lead to better prices and if not then they could drop out. Except the trade soon made all crops assured.
Now i see that 2/3 of farmers want out out of EU Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.
The last 40 years have been the most profitable farmers have had ,with it be by intervention guarantying prices or Direct payments and subsidy.
I hear that farmers who want out of the EU are saying subsidies keep inefficient farmers going and if those inefficient farmers could be forced out of business then it would free up land for them to then take on to farm Dooh.
I class myself as a large efficient business but there is no way i want to get larger at those less fortunate than myself. expense.
The British government is not going pay equal amounts to farmers that the EU does, whether it is conservative or labour.
We should all thank the french with their burning a tyre in the street attitude to getting farm support.
Iam voting in and all farmers should think very carefully before casting us all adrift without a life boat.
Rant over and breathe.
Why will Turkey be 20 years before they join?
