Anyone else received their levy invoice for a ridiculous amount when they do nothing for us farmers but take our hard earned money?! We need to band together and put a stop to these parasites.

Quite.Where’s the advertising at? Surely this is most important? I have never seen anything in the way of adverts for beef or lamb for ages
Quite.
Don't get me wrong, there is an absolute crap-tonnage of information on their website (especially about related NZ industry) but there is easily 100x more advertisement and self promotion on the forum here, than I've ever seen from the AHDB, not that I'm local enough to see it all.
Good online tools and stuff probably never will justify their levy, as I get the impression a fair few on here would have to be paid to use it!
But as Frank had said, make sure you all give them your feedback, as I doubt you'll get rid of them, noses in troughs et al
Out of interest, how are the NZ bodies like Beef and Sheep NZ, etc funded? Are they from slaughter levies, or government funded (not wishing to start off another rumpus about indirect subsidies, etc)?

Yes, but not just suppliers get to vote, kinda related to @Bill the Bass' comment above BLNZ is jointly funded by the whole of the domestic red meat chain, so I believe the retail sector is also able to cast a vote.Pete am I right in thinking you guys get a chance every 7yrs (??) to vote on the direction that B&L nz is heading in?
