There not representing my issues, there representing the issues of the bloke I work for he pays in why should I..

Also my original post was a question not an implication there is a difference.

Fair enough, good that the business you are employed in is a member (y)
Job to know who does what on here

In fairness the presence of actives in water supplies has nothing to do with eu membership. If remember correctly metaldehyde is only being banned in the UK.

It's the EU water quality directives driving all this. Now the technology exists that they can detect anything in water. Plus you have the whole endocrine disruptor issue. They also seem to be banning stuff simply because other alternatives exist. Ie- you have ally so why do you need mecoprop type thinking, which will result in more pressure being placed on the remaining actives. Then there is the whole registration process which makes old actives too expensive to bother protecting.

I doubt Gove even knows what metaldehyde is. One of his underlings did it I suspect. The water companies have been fed up with metaldehyde for years, its a sod to remove it from water. It has nothing to do with any perceived health risk.
You think water consumers will wear chems in water supplies? If you do you are not as an astute politician as our friend Gove.

I don't understand the question. The water companies have complained about metaldehyde in water for years. It is very difficult to remove. Unsurprisingly, it was banned. It's as simple as that. They lobbied, farmers didn't.
I think you would find that farmers did, I’m amazed it wasn’t removed years ago. The fact is it regularly appears in water at well over the legal limit. It was finally banned due to potential to poison wildlife as was draza, never mind the decades of use with no record of wildlife poisoning, the potential was there and so it was banned. That is how the precautionary principle works.

The sceptic in me could say it's because the chem boys have revysol ect coming along which will earn more £££££

Only for BASF who will have almost a monopoly on decent fungicide tech until others catch up

Existing tech will be way less useful without ctl

Inatreq from Corteva potentially more of a game changer than Revysol as a new mode of action. The big manufacturers will be sharing material, e.g BAYER give Corteva access to prothioconazole in return for Inatreq.

Are these new active single site only? If so, they only have a limited lifespan IMO.
