Spoke told mate who farm just south of Silverton and they don't think they had a mm
Yes same here, doubt we had a mm, normally a 60”+ rainfall area. Not to worry , rain on the forecast looks continuous from the 10 June onwards, so 2nd cut is fudged.

I'd guess we have sub 1 bale acre 2and cut after 4 weeks. Buying bales for sub 25 quid, cant really afford to make it, butnit needs to disappear as its run to head. Will be an expensive exercise, and wont be done until decent persistent rain is forecast, and if we get caught out and its raining too much to get a window, then a flail topper wouldnt be the most daft option

I'm grazing my second cut and will need to keep doing so for the next week regardless of rain. Pretty parched and not much rain yet. Hardly any at all during the day. Maybe a shower last night and a bit of heavier rain the night before, but only between 1am and 4am, because it was drying out nicely by 5am.

Got very excited by a the first few spots appearing on the windscreen today (it wasn't my hay I was baling!). Unfortunately, there wasn't enough to turn on the wiper.

we missed out mid week but since then weve had nicely over an inch ,most falling in the night s and without the recent heat has soaked in rather than evaporated or run off .much happier this morning

If and when the historic cattle drinkers in the field that start filling from the pipe that feed them coming from a spring up the slope I will relax ,very rarely over the years do they stop and theve been stopped about a fortnight.

It wont be enough to radically improve our crop potential but will certainly help it not going downhill any more hope all get some its been a long wait, almost as long as lockdown
