Just graze really slowly, thankfully we have the cover to do that.
Work on water effectiveness, ie we probably grew 4000kgDM/ha on under 40mm of rainfall, where a faster round you might grow ½ of that or less.

All the dairies in the valley are drying off or have dried off, bar one who will milk til late May

we seldom get a dry April, often we go dry but it's generally always run the cherries by this stage

Where there is cover the grass is growing, but a reduced rate.

Anywhere where white lice or has been taken down tight by cattle is struggling.

Looking down in valley at some grazed paddocks that have had frost and they have that yellow tinge like they have had a splash of roundup!

this was my grass at the end of December and again in mid February. So it’s gone flood stress to just waking up & very short of N too cold nights and now dry and cracking up . its more yellow and purple than lush green.

I'm not getting too worried, yet!
Mrs Whitepeak is itching to turn all the cows out, but I keep reminding her that it's still only mid April and we could still have snow! The fact it's warm and dry is what's making her want them out. End of April/beginning of May is usually when most cows go out up here.
It is very dry, only 13mm so far in April, however March and Feb were about average.

It will when the weather people get around to working on all the wishes received so far 🙄

never wish for weather, more will be along soon enough
there are some places it don't rain
not here thankfully, we just need it to warm up as there is plenty of moisture under the cover, having said that I don't think it will warm up properly till we get a southwesterly and it will rain then anyway
