I think we're looking at this all wrong !
Should be looking at this from a half full glass and not a half empty glass.
Every one is all doom and gloom with electricity, gas and oil prices sky high this winter.
Now If we get a cold snap, and money's too tight to pay heating bills etc, people are going to want to keep warm.
So two questions.
How fast do they breed ?
And how many Beavers to make a hat
What does beaver taste like?
Too old to remember! How old are you?
If you were to hunt/poach them?
Too old to remember!
That's exactly what's proposed......How long before whatever damage they do they will be given protective status just like the badgers!
best tell that to our dogs i guess. How long before whatever damage they do they will be given protective status just like the badgers!

Beavers back in Shrewsbury and the obligatory mention of rewilding . This is dressed up as a survey, but is really after your money to pay for it all.View attachment 991713View attachment 991714View attachment 991715
Don't these people realise that letting beavers dam watercourses causes them to fill up and flood and that wetlands cause global warming by releasing methane in large quantities?
Beavers are a serious PITA in many parts of the USA as they block culverts, drains and watercourses with their dams and they can be difficult to remove. Absolute madness.
Responded to the questionaire.
I am in a grumpy mood tonight, so I suspect my VERY non-PC responses will be binned.
Lye?? I understand the rest...
I cannot wait for 3ft of water to go through a major town due to beavers, sometimes the only way to get the message is for people or unfortunately experience their own pain and traumaDon't these people realise that letting beavers dam watercourses causes them to fill up and flood and that wetlands cause global warming by releasing methane in large quantities?
