I was lucky I got my purchase, I was one of the few lucky ones, i can't complain about the product, I wouldnt deal with the man again though
Yes I purchased my Betacraft Bib & Brace elsewhere after, it’s now going into its 3rd winter and I love it! Can’t believe how tough the material is, and how comfy they are compared to flexothane trousers. Contemplating getting a coat now.👍

My Stoney Creek jacket just arrived in post. First impressions looks the same material as kaiwaka, fits well and great deep pockets. I wasn’t keen on kaiwaka coat as it looked very long even though I’ve got the bib and brace which is ace. Hoping the combination of the 2 will keep me warm and dry 👍🏻

They do let water through eventually but for £6.66 you could have several pairs (I usually have 2-3 pairs for wet days at lambing). They dry out ontop of a radiator - if I sit them on it at 5pm they're usually dry by 9-10pm.

They're thin, so you can keep them on opening gates tying string etc...

I used to wear Sealskinz at £30 a pair but these are a lot better

i can never understand why people would try & skimp & save money on quality work wear or boots - after all, it’s what we spend most of each day wearing, why not have the best ?
I had a problem with one of my feet a few years back and had to have a minor op.
The consultant told me I should spend as much as I could possibly afford on my shoes and my bed, because when I’m not in the one I’m in the other.
Sound advice I thought.

Can anyone recommend stockist's for Kaiwaka gear? I had wanted to treat myself to the Stormforce winter jacket for Christmas but seems to be sold out everywhere? Was hoping to be able to try one on as well in case the sizes are generous as has been mentioned.
Ideally North Wales area.

I’ve just looked at Kiawaka gear. You lot must be making way too much money!! I can buy 10 years worth of lined Flexothane jackets for the price of one Stormforce?!?! And if I catch one on barb I wouldn’t sit down and cry!!
Electric only then! Had one for years, which the son has nabbed. Used 10 years worth of flexothane in a month, was continually wet and it continually smelt of p!ss! Utter shyte!

Surely depends where you work and what you have to get done. On wet days I only get out of the truck to open a gate.

I've spent £3k+ outfitting me and my 2. That's betacraft trousers parkas and 2x pair of dedito boots each, plus base layers and fleeces as well. I've also provided hats and their choice of gloves.

We're outside on quads or in pens 10+hrs a day, whatever the weather. I expect my guys to get on and get the work done, so the least I can do I make sure they're as comfortable as possible doing so. It's all tax deductible anyway.

It's company property so I'll replace it free when it gets worn out. They're expected to maintain as necessary, but get given work time to do so. If/when they leave I get the gear back or they can buy it from me.

Happy comfortable staff perform at their best.

It's only £1k each. Dedito boots are £200/pair. Betacraft parka and trousers are £250/set. Waterproof warm hat and gloves another £50. Then a few sets of thermal base layers and a couple of fleeces are £200. £100 for sundries like oil and laces for boots and repair kit for waterproofs.

I don't begrudge them it at all.

£1k might buy a lot of sheep, but it buys very little training, both in terms of certificates and my time teaching. Staff retention is totally key. I take it as a great compliment that Dave came back to the company after I was forced to make him redundant following loss of the pig units.

He'll be moving to the farm in the new year. I'll be spending £15-20k on a lodge style home (fully insulated). There'll be no rental charge and he won't pay for utilities. There will also be as much free meat as he likes, along with other plenty of other perks. I try and look after my people as best I can. Generally it's worth it.

Can't fault you!

If your ever looking for someone, I'd even consider adoption for that kit! 😂

As a young soldier the army provided my housing food and gear. I try and do the same for my guys.

If you're serious, email me a CV. [email protected] I'll probably want a cattle stockman next year.
You should be commended for treating your employees so good. Good on you!

I'm not tarring everyone with the same brush but some farmers around here treat their employees like dirt, and they wonder why they go through staff like a dose of salts!

Treat people like you want to be treated that's my motto, life's too short!
