What to sow

I’ve a small part of a field not going into spuds this year but will be next, what could I sow as a cover. Not worth barley as not enough to spray. Only problem it’s full of Charlock so limited what I can put in that I can spray

Use the time to flush the charlock out. Let it grow just enough to make it worthwhile hooking a cultivator on then move the soil and go again. Charlock seed will last decades in the soil so it’s a great chance to lower the seed bank.
