Kuhn Axis/Quantron problem

Got my kuhn 30.1 quantron out the shed last week, checked it out and all fine, actuators working fine so good to go.

Went to put it on an hr ago for the morning and the right hand actuator is now saying fault in the metering system. when you put it in manual mode the left actuator will open and close from 0 to 580 as normal and the right will open the same, (from shut to fully open when i look into the bottom of the spinner) and shut again but the scale on the quantron in the cab says that when its fully open its 580 (correct), but when its shut it only drops to 180 instead of 0. I presume this is whats making it recognise a fault. Its an 08 machine< any ideas???

Looks like im not going spinning in the morning then.... bloody things!

We were told after we bought our machine the actuators can be problematic.... and the dealer has replaced a few, but there must be some way of calibrating it.. sorry not much help...

Actuators can be a problem. If you have gone this far without changing one you have pretty well. Make sure you get the adaption kit with it, because they use a new one now and it is a different length. You will still need to re calibrate.

How old is your machine? One went on our 2006 one and they wanted to replace both as no longer make the actuator for machines this age. Mechanic took ours apart and fixed it. Dave king fixes them too.

Done my new 40.2 today 3354 is the code
Mine keeps coming up with “fault in dosing system stop!...54?????
It was using more fert on lhs than rhs
Not sure why this error comes up?
Also says hopper empty when it still has 100kgs in hopper
I bought another Kuhn because the last 40.1w did 30,000 acre and never touched it

It sounds like you have set the minus 1 position to low. When calibrating and the QS asks for minus 1, set this distance approximately the same distance below zero that number 1 is above zero. Hopefully this makes sense.

You have to go through the whole calibration procedure, check the agitators are working OK, when one of ours went it slowed that side down slightly.
Both bearings for agitators newly changed. One, before it was put past, then another one yesterday!

When i go to fast emptying and open them fully. The slow running one doesn't open to same number. Its only one or two numbers behind though

Is this the new style actuators or the old linak actuators ?
