Jarmet sprayer

Had a 12m hydraulic folding for 5 years now. Arag controls which are very good but the sprayer frame that holds the tank has needed welding a lot. Booms are too heavy for the frame and cracks around the top link pin. I see on the new ones there is a brace going over the top of the tank, guessing that will take a lot of the strain. Thicker metal would also help.

Mine did 16 acres of glyphosate on Sunday no problems. Went through a test in September last year no problems too. It's only a simple 800 litre one but it works fine they're everywhere round here I don't know of anyone who has had a problem with one. Several local machinery dealers have sold them for a good few years now.
I’ve got the same model however when I switch a boom off I get a jet of spray from the valve spraying towards me.:dead:

I don’t bother switching off now.:bag:

Only 2 years old but it was cheap new, really cheap.

Think it's the way that when you close of a section of boom on the Jarmet, the pressure for the other sections shoots up! Just tell the tester that you shift up a gear as you close a section!;)

If you have the electronic section controls (which are Arag made) then there's a pressure adjusting switch on the box and you can reduce the operating pressure immediately back to what it needs to be. I bought a small Jarmet to do all the bits the contractor can't do because of the size of his sprayer, small paddocks, margins, game strips etc, and I'm very pleased with it. Its not doing hundreds of acres a year mind.

had a simple jarmet…think Britain’s toys made better quality gear.
So bought this gem from a s/h dealer for around 2k I think. He specialises in reconditioning sprayers. think it’s around 20-25 years old but no regrets whatsoever. Everything is just better about it and I can spray a field without having to go double the speed by the end so I don’t run out! Jarmets might be better by now but certainly won’t buy another one.

Mine is rattly/noisey as frig always has been. Sprays nearly perfect once you have her dialed in.

They are really pretty horrid and build quality is shocking. Bolts holding the boom pivot are 20mm too short, so cannot take a lock nut and guess what, they come undone! :(

The spring loaded retainer came out and the boom fell off earlier this year, bungied it back on and finished the job, then sorted it properly at home....

Pump and controls seem fine so far, doing 50-60ac/annum if that.

However, looking back, I have had numerous issues with the Sprayers I owned several from new. The best was a 1000l mounted Berthoud, probably because it was a low miler when I got it, and the problems had been resolved! :)

The newer ones are not rattily and v accurate , mines done over a 1000 acres in 2 years .
