Trade waste bin

I know, was really replying to the chap who said Red Tractor were kicking off about a skip that was on farm but did not yet have a transfer note. Think I replied to you instead of him.

No, one and the same.
Although it ought to have been obvious the waste was being disposed of properly, wit the piece of paper to hand it was a fail, in my opinion a fail to show up above he was doing his job knowing the paperwork would be forth coming so an easy fix for me.
Not my first fail on that one, have previously failed because paperwork was at the accountants

Just shows how petty the whole thing is.

what bell ends, it trade waste...

ive said on a few threads i carefully squash wrap/band containers into building tote bags and other farm rubbish then put these in an 8 yard skip annually, keeps the place tidy and if you compact it you get loads in.

8 yard skip around £265 plus vat

Well done. I’m on exactly that service (fortnight and 90kg) and have been for a few years. Goes up every April as they all do.

Current price is £53ish + VAT a month.
Do they police weight vigorously?
Weigher on collection vehicle?
do you have to put everything in bags?
is it road or farm building collection?
Sorry for all the questions 🤦‍♀️
Thanks

Good questions!! 👍👍

Yes. All bins are now weighed. When we started the lorry didn’t have a weigher, but now they do. We never get told the weights each time, only if there is excess and then an excess weight charge is added based on a pro-rata rate of around £260 a tonne. That can follow several weeks after collection so worth bearing in mind.

No need to bag anything. Just open the lid and drop it in.

Bin is located at entrance to the farm buildings (up the farm drive).

Feel free to ask away if you want to know any more.

If I were to get a 1200ltr trade waste bin collected every fortnight can everything go in?
bale wrap and net
Chem containers etc washed
All other dairy waste etc
And satisfy RT ?? Vertinary waste currently goes back to vets and I’m happy to continue with that , just sick of general waste gathering on farm until I get a skip etc so though big bin lifted every fortnight would solve the problem
How much is it for that

We had a bin from Ash waste, was a rip off. Fortunately local Tudor griffiths builders merchant have a waste transfer site, bought an old silage trailer it all goes in there and when full we tip at the station. £140/ton to tip, minimum of 2 ton. Used to have trouble with the old weighbridge operator moaning about farm waste but the new guy they employed is brilliant, will take anything

Normally trade waste bin was working out about £600 per year , but local waste company that said no to black plastic etc in there have came back with a deal , they are supplying 4 1100litre bins 2 for black plastic one for net and fert bags and 4th bin for everything else , they will collect empty all 4 and drop them back as and when full , for 120per tonne seems ok to me ,
