ULEZ

Hypothetical really but now the zone has been extended in London there may be some fields within the area. Does it mean tractors now have to be post 16 compliant (whatever that means)? If so heard this morning that grants are available for ultra small businesses to get their vehicles compliant, would a tractor or two qualify for the grant?

Just buy a big bus;

Are London buses exempt from ULEZ?

Ultra Low Emission Zone - Transport for London

Lorries, vans or specialist heavy vehicles (all over 3.5 tonnes) and buses, minibuses and coaches (all over 5 tonnes) do not need to pay the ULEZ charge.

Really might be wrong here but I was under the impression that Buses in Glasgow City centre had to be of a certain low emission level a number of years ago.
The guy on telly this morning had to use his transit van to transport his daughter to the cancer unit which is as of today just inside the zone for regular treatments which now has an additional £12.50 daily charge:mad:

Much to my surprise, 2 of my old bikes are allegedly ULEZ compliant, but when I look on the TfL site they are not!!

However, I did see that there was a successful challenge to the fines being levied, late last week.

From Telegraph

Drivers who enter the newly expanded Ulez zone on roads without warning signs will have grounds to challenge their fines, a leading motoring lawyer has said.

Nick Freeman, who earned the nickname Mr Loophole after successfully getting a string of well-known figures off driving charges, told The Telegraph that a lack of warning signs on the outskirts of London could result in a wave of successful challenges from drivers.

Six out of the seven councils that border London have refused to install any Transport for London (TfL) Ulez signs in their boroughs, in protest against Sadiq Khan’s planned expansion.

The decision means that the majority of roads leading into London will not have signs alerting drivers that they are entering the expanded zone, which increases the chance of inadvertently entering it and being charged.

Mr Freeman said if there are no signs there should be no fines and suggested that challenges on these grounds could be successful.

He said: “Any road traffic regulations that are introduced, there must be clear, unambiguous signage. And in the absence of clear, unambiguous signage, no penalty can be enforced. The prosecutors would, I’m quite confident, win on appeal.

“This happens in speeding cases, you get it in bus lane cases, there are a whole host of cases where the signage isn’t clear. And then when somebody wants to challenge it, they invariably win because the signage doesn’t doesn’t fit the bill.”

What a state this country has turned into!
meanwhile there are 500 flights waiting to take off from Heathrow because of the delays! A joke
Now, now don`t play fair. Your cows/sheep must fart far more pollution than all those planes..... Yes the world (UK anyway!) has gone COMPLETELY mad  ..
After all you`re only producing mere food.....
THEY CAN`T POSSIBLY BE SERIOUS ABOUT TACKLING GLOBAL WARMING UNTIL THEY SCRAP AT LEAST 90% of AEROPLANES. Maybe these high performance/high fuel consumption cars need looking at too before they start on farm animals that have been merrily farting away since goodness knows when.
