I bought a new Bateson last year . The electrics are absolute crap. Had to have the whole thing rewired pretty much to make it road legal after the terminals all corroded in the connectors within 6 months and kept blowing fuses in the towing vehicle. Bateson wouldn’t stand by it as said I needed to take it back for them to fix. Not sure how I was supposed to do that legally as had no lights !

Any views on the Brian James connect ? Just looked at one and it looked pretty good , tilt bed with little tail ramp .
Have one at work. 21ft long and 8ft wide. Tri axle tilt bead. Very flexible trailer along its length when driving on rough roads and electrics cause enough hassle that I’m going to re wire it this winter.
very rough ride when empty as any tri axle but great when loaded.

Just out of curiosity do you know what that will weigh empty?

I thought leds would make the wiring better? disappointing that it’s not better!
at 16 ft I don’t think I’ll get the body flex you have though?
looking at the nugent tilt bed but I’m not sure they do tri axle?
But like the way the cage sides fold down as I’ll have to lift the others off to load over side .
rep says nugent will always be a bit dearer but better?

Leds are only the bit on the end of the wiring it's all the cheapo bits in between which are the problem. Tbh a lot of the led light units are cheap junk which let water in. Last two ifor trailers i bought (one now over 10 the other about 8 year old) could have been led but i opted for rubbolite lights and other than the odd bulb I've had no wiring problems.

The light units are ok. It’s the connectors and cable runs that cause the problems.

Well Brian james are built at daventry which is pretty local to me , so any issues I’ll take it back to them ! They were bragging about new factories etc so horn hopefully they’ve upped their game on the wiring .

Hi Terry , any reasons ? I value your opinion as I know you use them to their max .
Ifors on a 9 month wait if you want tri axle
I ordered, from a Nugent dealer, on day of collecting I paid in full,
Then on viewing on collection, noticed, a list of problems, bad galvanising, curvature to side rail, etc, refused to take trailer,
They then refused to replace, correct or reimburse, Shaun Nugent refused to acknowledge problems, had to issue solicitor, finally was reimbursed.
it’s really not the way to do business,

So you can definitely get a new one for 1k less than that? When I ordered a Ifor i was told price, then a couple of months later I was told it was going up and would be whatever it was when it came
I don’t know to the penny how much a new one is. I don’t have anything to do with ifor. But I can take an educated guess. That trailer won’t be over £5k.
