Hi, does anyone know the Maximum weight you can put on the tow hitch on a Honda 500 Foreman?

I have made a dual purpose trailer for a bale wrapper and log splitter, the trailer was originally designed to go behind the Landy, it tows perfectly, yet it's very nose heavy, I don't know the exact weight, but I will check latter on today..

If the hitch is lower on the quad than the landy you`ll get more weight if it`s "sloping" down to the hitch.... Sounds a bit iffy if the job is "very nose heavy".

You’d be surprised what they will pull when properly ballasted. 😁

Regularly pull 500kg of feed blocks in our CFM trailer with various Hondas, ranging from Foreman 400 to 500. 2/3rd of the weight at the front to get enough traction to get up our hill road, with a steady driver it’s fine but you definitely don’t want to try any properly steep bits, either up or down.

300 Big Red used to pull a flat trailer frame and 2 x 4ft bales of haylage out to the turnips once upon a time. One bale was better.

They will take quite a bit of weight on the hitch, the foreman having a "solid axle" rather than the independent suspension type helps a fair bit of course. They are rated to carry 60-70kg or more on the rear rack so I see no reason why you couldn't place that much on the hitch.
