How much would one charge to receive someones muck?

I don't need or want his muck. The muck in their tunnel is their problem.

Anybody can keep livestock and make money.....if they don't need to worry about muck disposal, don't need to pay for machines, don't pay water or electric.
But your not either

the business is and it’s his aswell

partner in the business, been going on a long time, is it a paying hobby, something he is really interested in doing, but cannot do it in the business ?

to be perfectly honest, the time to have a gripe, has long past, something should have been said/agreed before.

only gripe l can see, is if it interferes with the main farm system, then that is different.

the question, is it worth the hassle of a potential fallout ? That could have huge potential economic problems.

Sounds to me like the muck isn’t really the issue, it’s everything that’s gone before. Therefore whether you charge them or not might not make a whole lot of difference to your situation, as the other stuff will just keep on happening.

Best lance the boil, and have a civilised discussion and draw some boundaries, it’s never too late for that and as others have said it could well prove to being the most financially and emotionally valuable conversation you could have.

Its almost the exact same business model as the farms main income. Obviously on a smaller scale

Oh yes, the time to gripe was long long long ago.

It is absolutely worth the hassle of the fallout. This business has come as far as it can like this. In fact too far, daily negative impact, business is going backwards. Absolutely no doubt.

This is of course bigger than a load of muck.

@som farmer You may remember a thread I reignited about a month ago, that you had some good input in. Did result in a rather disappointing meeting between partners

Yeah, a load of muck really isn't the issue.

Tbh, I think it is too late. Nothing has been said, no line drawn and no protection offered from elder business partners

On top of all those gripes, what’s a few loads of muck?
I dare say I waste days on things that my other partners consider a hobby like over fettling old machinery which doesn’t really pay but saves my sanity so it’s give and take. Have a beer, forget it and light the fire. Most farming partnerships are to some extent charities and a form of care in the community. Well lots round us are.

It’s like the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard. The ones who’d worked through the heat of the day were complaining because they got paid the same as those who rocked up in the evening who only did three hours. And Jesus said “well that’s what you agreed to before you started so suck it up.” I used to think it was bollox but now I understand it.🤣

Well not really like that.
Genuinely want to know how much to charge.

One works with a family member as partners on the farm. One family member has a "side hustle" doing almost exactly the same thing as farm does. Uses all the kit and offers no payment or appreciation, then pockets everything they make.
Obviously we can all make money if someone else foots the bill.

Admittedly, I have started this thread as I am pis5ed off right now.
Well you’ve answered your own question. Just because he’s a partner in one Buisness dosnt mean he don’t need to pay when the other uses its services. Start charging out contacting / hire rates for kit and charge for electric.
he likes it or lumps it pay the bill or find somewhere else to have a side hussle. He’s effectively creaming off the top of the shared buisness, hand in the till as it were.
