Groundsel control options

I have a lot of groundsel come through my autumn herbicide in winter wheat.

Should I be thinking about controlling now or waiting until early spring when warmer?

I was thinking either lector (straight florasulam) or cameo (tribenuron) would anyone have any suggestions which may work best?

thanks in advance Rob

There’s a thread on this somewhere I started I think. Impressed by the size of your wheat and the fact you hope to travel anytime soon.
Ok thanks I will have a look. This is our lighter soil would travel after a few drying days, our clay grounds a different story the seed is still in the bag!

Always been left disappointed with Tribenuron.
Used Shield once, which worked a treat but ££ and has date restrictions.
Thanks that’s good to know. I suppose I could strengthen the tribenuron with metsulfuron like ally max but would have to wait to Feb I believe.

Can't remember which hormone I used to use to fold up big groundsel. It's a funny weed which rears it head in various places. You won't like this solution though as it needs warmer weather and hormones don't play that nice with trace elements. You can partner them (obviously at a reduced dose) with some SU or ALS products.

Pretty sure my agronomist advised it’s not really cost effective to bother with.

But that said, if it’s frustrating you and likely to be worse next year then you may have little option.

Does rotation help more than chemical options?

It is a weed of stewardship and DD. It's not massively competitive but a small population soon becomes a big one. Florasulam is OK at this time of year but there are limits on the total annual dosage if you plan on using Palio/Broadway/some of the Starane mixtures later on.
