What are the options for fencing posts now?

Strainer s are dear i use box beams …. Its dear clipex but 30 year guarantee and half time to erect .
What do they look like? Watched a video about clipex erecting and the strainers look complicated. I take it with clipex the posts have to be dead level or the wire will be up and down. How do you cope in stoney places?

Pretty stoney here but never had much of a problem getting posts in approximately where they’re wanted (just move them along a bit if you hit too big a stone). They seem to work their way in around stones, although that does mean they can sometimes turn a bit, which is annoying.
Never tried the strainers.

If you are put off by the Clipex standard strainers, there is also the Eco strainer which is not so well known. I have changed over to them 'cos they are much easier to erect if you are a one man band oldie!
Regarding stones, as sjy says, because they are thin it is easier to wiggle them down between them.

You need to dip tops, ones I did your way the tops have rotted and let staples out. Ground level is good 10+ years on.
Ah ok- never had that happen before. Had to replace a 400m run of fence a few years ago at 6 years of age due to most of the posts rotting off at ground level and the fence falling over. Only use creosoted posts/clipex for main runs of fencing these days, with some ‘treated’ posts for end fences/bits n bobs.
Working my way through an entire pallet of 6ft 3x4 posts at the moment, but only dipping the first few feet.

As mentioned above , just finished last week 26000m of HLS fencing and 64 gates ( 5 artic loads)and used Robinia from Jack Down (www. robiniatimber .com) . Got on very well with both the product and Jack is very good to deal with, would recommend .
Only downside to Robinia is that they do vary in size and no two stakes are the same !!! Would not suit a smart posh entrance or paddock but is very hard and perfectly good to hold up wire or hang a gate too. You will need a staple gun though as can t get staples in by hammer , they squash half way in . Also doing rails by gates etc , can get 4 inch nails in , 5 inch 50/50 but 6 inch , less than 2 % !!!
Any questions, feel free to ask or message me .

Only use concrete strainers here now, it's not hard to replace a few posts if the wire is tight.
I hate them, cant get them proped and tied as tight as wooden, if they put 4 strips of black stuff in them itd be alot better, at over 50 quid a strainer id think they could afford to do that

Yes I've been battling with them about the strips but might as well talk to the wall🙄.
