3 sets of twins in 3 years

Several years ago, I had a cow that had the usual single calf every year. But after four years of solo calves. She would only have twins. She got to 5 sets before she was scanned empty. It wasn’t until the 3rd set that I started to presume that she was carrying twins again. The sires of the 5 sets of twins were 3 different bulls.

Years ago I had a suckler cow who had twins every year till she was 10 then she had a single and slipped down in the alleyway and done the splits and never recovered. It takes it out of them having twins every year, she never gained enough weight between calvings. .

Can't really find anything online about herds of twinning cattle. Any pointers to info/articles?

That is not too shoddy, at 11 years old she had given you 14 calves . That is actually really quite useful.
Did you get any heifers that weren't freemartins o were they all genetic twins?

Had a pedigree Lim cow a few years ago who had a single as a heifer, then twins three years in a row, then a set of triplets. The next year she was empty.
Kept one daughter out of her but she only ever had singles.

Even better, she had her 1st calf at 2, so the 13/14th calves were when she was just 10. Unfortunately, in truth her twins were never anything special. They weren’t so much 2 calves for the price of one. More 2 calves that together weaned the same as one good one. She had 3 mixed sets of twins and 1 set of bulls and 1 set of heifers. Until she was scanned empty, she was otherwise very fertile. Except for her first calf, all her calves were in the first cycle. On the upside, the twins never needed any help being calved.
