Does anyone make 7 rail 18 foot gates?

I can find yard gats that length but they are no use for lambs and too heavy duty for the application.

So you want a light duty 18ft gate with 7 rails!
Yikes not asking for much. Maybe a gate with netting would reduce the weight a bit or use very thin box sections either way your hanging post is going to need a foundation.
When you say 7 rails surely your not taking about a 18ft wooden gate? no way are you making anything light out of wood at that distance.

Why not use 2 3m ones and fasten in the middle? Less strain on the hanging posts.

Its a possiblity but a single gate gives better options for handling, its across the bay of a shed so hanging to steel stanchions so no issue wit strain like on a post

No, metal, and would be ideal with half mesh but I dont think anyone makes them, might have to look at other options.

Can get 18 foot yard gates but too heavy for what I want.

Yeah we've got a 20ft that doubles as a down pipe for the guttering but it is super heavy and not sheep proof.
How are you with a Welder? Gates aren't the worse to make....
If they are attached to a shed then what is the too heavy concerns about?

My welding skills are..........limited!
;-)

It will be moved around at times, hence too heavy for me on my own

Well if you didn't live at the exactly opposite end of the country from me I'd gladly make you something :p
Moved with a loader I hope?
If by hand then I'd suggest it would need to be made of Aluminium or maybe a little trolley on wheels you could sit it on.
Must be a local engineer that would make anything you asked surely?

I can hang a 16ft gate on my own most of the time. But yes it’s a struggle

Shirley you get some expanding sheets, or weld mesh, cut to size and tack weld it in places to hold it on to the gate you can get, be easier than making a gate etc,
And the shed girder for a hanging post, and on girder that catches on, weld a toe out to sit bottom of gate on it when closed to take weight off the gate, this will make it last longer

What your looking for is a D8 Sheep gate made by Ag-con in Rostrevor Newry.
They would supply most of the gates over here and have it pretty sorted. They make field gates up to 22' and in two styles, D4 cattle gate and D8 sheep gate. Cost per foot goes up considerably once you go over 16 foot. They don't have a website it seems but there is a brochure on line.
Give them a ring and see if they have any stockists in your part of the world.

Cheapest option is 2 9ft gates. 2 half mesh 9ft gates will set you back about £160 or something. Not ideally what youre after but the Cheapest and quickest option.
