If I were to be having issues with wholecrop going off during the winter due to the face being too big would spraying acid on the face after each cut preserve it enough?

Crop just keeps on coming, no one wants any and I’m really not set up at all for crimp so trying to think of ways around it before the inevitable.

Just combine and sell of the field it might even pay for your roof on feed area

Crimp it into an ag bag, contractor in Cardigan has one I think.

Without a doubt home n dry is the best for not suffering issues at the clamp, unfortunately it’s not cheap.

I don't know anyone who has ever done it, but hi-cut whole crop is a thing.

Ramps up the quality like you wouldn't believe.
One of the pioneers of home n dry tried a stripper header,in reality it was going to be perfect, sadly it pulled the whole plant out of the ground.

The ideal would be a double cutter head, one cutting high and the other low, running all over it just rolls the straw into the ground.
