27ton acre. Thats unbelievable. What grain would that have turned out if cut dry.Done ours beginning of the week and found much the same, first field did 67t/ha off the field.

If I were to be having issues with wholecrop going off during the winter due to the face being too big would spraying acid on the face after each cut preserve it enough?
Crop just keeps on coming, no one wants any and I’m really not set up at all for crimp so trying to think of ways around it before the inevitable.
Crimp it into an ag bag, contractor in Cardigan has one I think. If I were to be having issues with wholecrop going off during the winter due to the face being too big would spraying acid on the face after each cut preserve it enough?

Would imagine headless will have a skin who's handy with the shovel to overcome that problemA lot of work with a hand shovel in the winter mind unless you want to waste quite a bit.
Easier and cheaper if you have a long narrow concreted area to put it on would be to make a long and say 15ft wide clamp for the crimp.
Then go and bale the strawI don't know anyone who has ever done it, but hi-cut whole crop is a thing.
Ramps up the quality like you wouldn't believe.
Without a doubt home n dry is the best for not suffering issues at the clamp, unfortunately it’s not cheap. If I were to be having issues with wholecrop going off during the winter due to the face being too big would spraying acid on the face after each cut preserve it enough?

One of the pioneers of home n dry tried a stripper header,in reality it was going to be perfect, sadly it pulled the whole plant out of the ground.I don't know anyone who has ever done it, but hi-cut whole crop is a thing.

Was going to say is straw not hard to lift out of the harvester tracks?
Next new idea will be wait till it's ripe, harvest it with a specialist machine that separates the grain from the straw
