Abuse of Market Canteen Staff

I’m looking for advice on handling a matter that’s got my blood going.
My daughter works in the local market canteen, one of the top main buyers made a remark about her appearance and said she had not been slapped hard enough.
She complained to her boss who is an auctioneer, nothing has been said.
I’m livid! and feel I’m going to shoot myself in the foot when fickle farmers don’t bid on our stock!

To be honest, I'm pretty appalled that the price of your stock even comes in to the same equation as looking out for your daughter.

Anyone be that the bidders, auctioneer, other farmers, or whoever, who can't respect a father looking out for his own daughter when necessary, ain't worth a spit.

*edit* - oh, and should probably be in farming matters as sway of main buyers at markets can frequently be an issue in many different ways.

I’ve spoken with her boss, signs are being put up.
If he does it again I will find out where he lives and sit down with his wife or partner and spell out the details.

The business that employs her must have some form of HR Dept (even if it's only one person)

She needs to raise an official grievance that her complaint hasn't been dealt with.
Talking to her boss, he was unaware of what’s happened, now I’ve had a chat with her boss things are out in the open.

Without knowing all the details. But if I was in your situation I would have a quiet word with her boss and say how very upset she is about what took place and especially that she hasn't been informed of what's happening and whether she is likely to be on the receiving end of further comments from this 'gentleman'.
Yes I’ve now done that thank you

I understand, I’ve now spoken with her boss, I expect to see signs up around the market that abuse will not be tolerated.
I had to ask the forum, Im not an indigenous farmer, did 25 years in the forces, been doing cattle since leaving the Army 2008 supporting my wife who is from 6 generations farmer, did worry for 2 days on this issue. I think I would not get away with Military discipline methods. But it’s good to read your thoughts on the subject of an unsupportive father 👍

That sounds like a start, but if the guy is a bully, which he most likely is, he may consider himself above such advisories.

But above all else, your daughter has to know that you have her back no matter what.

That transcends all other opinions or circumstances.

In a first for me - I usually move threads from Agricultural Matters to Politics - I am doing a reverse ferret for yours @Robbo the Farmer to draw in a wider audience

This sort of behaviour (your OP not me moving stuff about on the Forum) has no place and he needs calling out PDQ
