Hi all just putting this out there to find the good the bad and the ugly points of the AGCO Ideal combines, I see there’s been a few retailed in the UK, I’ve heard good things but is it up to competing with the competition?

Any first hand experience on this would be great!

As above. He runs 7 of them. This is his second season with them. Think he has had his fair share of issues with them but Agco do seem to be still developing and updating his combines . His main reason for going with them was at the time they offered a 5 year 'bumper to bumper' warranty which is worth a lot as he is 100 miles from the dealership.

I’d like him to say how he’s bought them
my biggest worry would be 5 years time ie second hand value
they’ve a lot to live upto to match claas and new hollands

i dont honestly think the Yellow & Light green/white machines have a lot to fear
both well est brands with the right backup in most cases.
They should be both upping there game warranty wise tho as iam sure neither do it as good as AGCO do it.
i could be wrong ???
Agco warranty’s are good for all there products

that used swop is the worry down the line, you would nearly need some sort of underwritten doc from Massey/Fendt to say where you are after say 5yrs of ownership.
It could be that you never own it & just contract hire from day1

You’d be brave going from claas/NH without a future value from agco
you could struggle to go back to green or yellow

It could be the best combine ever built in my book but the resale value would scare me to death. It's a relatively unknown machine and rare as it stands. A used Lexion or NH you will find a ready market for without much sweat.

Thats there trouble & iam sure they are fully aware of this
After letting what was pretty much there bread n butter 40 odd years ago pretty much slip away to tiny units sold it will take more than just a Black looking futuristic combine
to get them anywhere back where they once were. good luck tho its a tough job there trying to get too

My other big concern would be the technical knowledge of service engineers. I am sure they have been trained up to the eyeballs but there is no replacement for experience gained in the field and knowledge gained of common problems and areas to look at to detect potential problems. With so few machines around this will be difficult to gain when compared to a Claas dealer who potentially could in a year sell as many Lexions as there are Ideals in the whole of the UK.
