used to do full sync programme, on our dairy hfrs, all we do now, oestrus strips, serve to visual, for 7/8 days, prelim jab, serve to visual, 80% held to 1st service, 99% served in 21 days. Might be a grind with beef, but you get a tight bunch, so similar with the cows, 75 % held to 1st service, only 2 cows had a prid, really good results this year, hope we can do it again !!

Using 100% ai. Work away during the day. I do use the kamar patches which are a great help. Iv already ai’d a few to visual heats but some have came back bulling. So my thinking is, put them all into program and get as many from a batch incalf. Especially with winter housing coming fast it will be even harder to see them bulling when on slats 🤷🏻‍♂️

What about estrumate observe, 10 days later (if not seen) estrumate observe?

I’m open to options. Maybe should have tried the estrumate-observe technique. Iv a few cows left to do so could try that and save on the cidr. So if not seen in heat 10days after the estrumate do u inject again and watch for heats again?

Yes, the idea is that you break the 21 day cycle. If you want you can add an injection of receptal prior to the Ai.
