Rock on you Old GitsJudge for yourself....
Are you the original line-up?
I’ve a feeling I may have seen a gig you played near Leckford once.
Or did some of the band leave due to musical differences?
ie, you lot were all quite good and the leavers were shyte.
If you would put on Galloway specific classes I'll message a few folks local to you ; mainly Belted Galloways but also potentially Black Galloways. Getting commitment for new shows with just any other native breed or worse any other beef breed usually means folks won't bother (too many judges just looking for big)Alresford Agricultural Show is back this Saturday after a two year Covid break.
Forecast is good, harvest finished early, come on down!
Shameless plug alert- I will be taking on the organisation of the livestock section from the 2023 show so if you are interested in showing at a lovely one day show ina beautiful setting with the focus very much still on farming please pm me and I will put you on the list to be sent an entry form.
Not names I recognise though others might. I suspect my neighbour has cattle there now. He grazes a lot round Itchen Stoke.Did a year as a student in the early seventies at nearby manor farm itchen stoke.
Managers were David and Philip Terrell.
Still around?
Big thank you to @Charlie Flindt for commentating on the modern machinery display.
Yes there is a Longwool class- would be great to have you along next year. Are there any classes for Longwool sheep? It would be good to head over that way with Mrs Fred's Greyfaced Dartmoors since we are getting some new Soc. members in the South East and they have a long way to travel at the moment. Our local show at Ellingham has a pretty good turn out for GFDs and we used to go to the Downland Museum rare breeds show but I think they have stopped that one now.
Blimey, that was hard work; trying to see what was in the queue of shiny machines through the haze and smog left by the vintage boys, and then trying to read the garbled notes hastily compiled by the dealers. And not knowing if anyone could hear me, or what they thought....At least when doing an after-dinner speech, you get feedback almost at once! Everyone is rating the Show as one of the best ever, and lots of talk about the Grenadier. I wonder which farmer/motoring journo persuaded them to come along?Big thank you to @Charlie Flindt for commentating on the modern machinery display.
