Any one else tried this and do you think it works?

Do it here and it works. The key is to make sure they run out about lunchtime. Knew someone that tried it but they never ran out of feed so even though fed last thing it didn’t work.

We are doing it this year and seemed to think it was working. However other night we had three calf at 10pm, one backwards one big bull but all ok. Left at eleven, went back at four to find another one with her dead calf and she had prolapsed 🙄 great start to the day

I don't lamb many inside but those that are get fed when I let the dogs out just before turning in. I don't check again until 0700. There's often a very fresh lamb but any issues generally haven't had time to develop into a disaster, as the feed seems to knock everything back a few hours. Worth doing, I would say.
I have six heifers in to calve currently, on adlib hay/silage. If they weren't in such good nick, I'd be giving them a little cake at bedtime too.

I feed my cows their haylage in the evening between 6 and 7 oclock to make them mostly calve throughout the day. They fill their bellys and cud throughout the night. I recon I' am at 80% out of 12 cows calved up to now that have calved through the day.
Yes it works perfectly........
