I took a trip up north yesterday, about 20 miles south of John O'Groats, which as you'll know is the most northerly tip of the Scottish mainland. Those guys could teach you how to make hay. A beautiful sunny day, then the Haar rolls in off the North Sea and the heavy mist hangs around for days, condensing on any steel work so it drips. Many seem to cut a few acres, then try to make that. Plenty of hay lying out and some still cutting. But they are getting there. I can't help thinking some of you southerners must be missing something if you can't make hay down there! Yeah, I know!:)

A few acres left to do, yet the weather isn't settled for the following week, may make silage out of it!

I honestly don't know in this day and age how completely useless these weather forecasters are! If you look on the BBC app on your phone they can actually change the weather for the week ahead during the day after they've already set it! Sometimes the app doesn't even correspond with the weather they put on the tv! It's absolutely pathetic, what are these idiots doing all day in the office?! Surely it can't be that hard to forecast the weather when they've got more computers than bill gates!

BBC forecast for here is showers mon rain tue and weds and then fine after that but not really hay making weather, cloudy by the looks of it but that will have to do

Anyone seen what the jet stream is doing ?

Our river meadows have miraculously dried up a lot in the last couple of days. It's going to be a wrapper job, but a day or so dry and I might get baling again. even it is just a few acres mowed one night and a few dozen bales baled before it rains the next day.
