Are hunt and followers exempt from all laws?

I would of loved a day out at the waterloo cup before hare coursing was banned, a good greyhound chasing an even better hare is a great sight . Van loads of pikeys is what spoils the sport

We used to host some of the qualifiers and other meets on a farm I worked on in West Norfolk, the owner was into it in a really big way. Everything done above board and a bad day if a hare got killed, no points for that one if I remember rightly. Those who were in the coursing circles back then should know the farm and the now deceased lady in question, quite a character!

Been here 30+ years and never paid anyone to shoot foxes or pigeons
I don’t pay the lads who come here, I do have to make them take some eggs or joints of lamb home as a thank you when they come up on cold nights at last minute due to having problem foxes every so often, they are very good friends mind who I’ve spent many a day and night with.

Haven’t done themselves any favours today . I used to have an understanding with the previous master. Don’t come when we have the sheep here and all the electric fencing, and keep to the edge of fields.
New young bucks seem to have a rush of blood today . First of all I found the terrier man had disabled my electric fence battery , then they’ve cut across a wheat field and finally they came back in full cry, straight into the sheep fence, despite assuring me they’d give me a wide berth.
The fence the hounds piled into was on the mains. Lots of expletives from the ‘ gents ‘ on horseback
I’ve tried to be accommodating , but I think they will be getting told to keep off altogether now.

Not surprised you are cross Silverfox.

Our hunt came yesterday and I was surprised to see that most of the field were farmers. I suppose there was nothing else to do on a rainy day! Although we said they could go across a couple of stubble fields in the end it was only the huntsman, hounds and whips who left the road. There were a couple of quad bikes and there were two men and terriers on each one.

It’s not so much the cost, it’s the disrespect when you’ve had the conversation and been assured they won’t do it.
I let them come before the tack sheep arrive and use the tracks and stubble fields.
They don’t seem to understand it’s a two way thing.

I get that - but you’ve suffered pain and they should too. A decent bill will make them take note.

As a hunt supporter they deserve a massive bollocking for that. Completely unacceptable.
I was field mastering on Saturday (only because the Master’s horse went lame and I knew the country).
If anyone rode about like that on my watch I would go effing nuts.

I hate making an unnecessary mess, when we’ve tried to do a good job of establishing crops. I’ve deliberately not gone spraying on some fields, despite agronomist wanting me too, as I can’t bare ruts in tramlines

Your old school, which the old master was. The Wynnstay seem to have lost most of the experienced men in one go .

You need to get Mrs SF to fill her holes in. :ROFLMAO:
On a serious note they need a reminder that it is your grace that allows them their enjoyment.

We had something similar last year, they got an immediate ban for the rest of the season. The only way they learn is when you remove access rights.
What they have done to you is plain rude and disrespectful, I don't understand how they can do as you have described and then think to themselves "yes that's an acceptable way to behave"!

You need enough mounted followers with a base knowledge of practical farming to realise what’s ok and what isn’t. If a hunt hasn’t got that it’ll be a nightmare.
Last year I was telling everyone to keep to the verge and off the grass ley drilled three months before.
‘Why it’s grass in the field?’ they go.
Me- ‘There’s grass and grass- and this is grass you can’t ride on!’
