I've done that before but they are getting a bit thick. Also wondering if its a lot of work for broadway star to do and may shade out bromes?
Spitfire is the legal option afaik.

I think this depends on the thickness of the vols, this year there are high losses from short low podded crops and Combined with earlier drilling could lead to the situation you describe.
Some years I leave them until spring, some years they need controlling in the autumn, there’s no fixed view really
How much N will vol beans contribute that will be used anyway, there’s normally ample left after beans

What other herbicides do you normally use @SilliamWhale ? If it's Broadway Star, it might be worth reading the Broadway label. Most SU graminicides have restrictions on what other SUs you can use in the same crop year
