Best coulter for wet conditions

Looking to update the combi drill soon, majority of work is behind plough in wet clay.
Current drill is an old Amazone’s box drill on Suffolk coulters and makes a decent job unless it’s really wet and sticky, power Harrow is fine so just changing the drill.
Which would be better, an Amazone drill with Rotec coulters or a Weaving combi drill with Sabre tines?

I’ve got an amazone combination with disc coulters.ive never had to stop because discs don’t work.this year it’s often difficult to get soil through powerharrow and soil does build up behind wedge ring roller and coulter mounts.in all these situations it’s to wet to be going but needs must.a lot is on heavy clay too.pics attached was working yesterday and despite being very wet and having a heavy shower it all went ok,for this year any way.

I run an amazone the same as above but have bother with soil going inside the rubber depth wheel that then stops the disc turning. Not sure why its only doing it this year.

It’s probably the furrow opener I think it’s called
I don’t think the orange disc makes a any difference, check the bottom of the main disc and furrow opener are wearing even to each other and there isn’t a gap between them

Their is a gap right enough. It works fine In the middle setting but not at full depth.

Hi mate how do you find the wedge roller. Just getting quotes for a new 6m combination and Amazone are suggesting the rubber wedge roller. We are on heavy land and 95% sowing grass seeds all the time.

Would the Ro Tec coulter depth control be as accurate as like my current KV which relies on a seperate arm and press wheel.?
Timothy needs to be very shallow.
Cheers

No problems with the wedge ring roller.never blocked but throw craggy clay onto coulter bar.im sure this can adjusted out with the scrapers and I’ll look at mine over the winter.the orange flexi plastic disc is a depth limiter and keeps the disc clean.ive never has soil go inside mine

I have the exact same problem on mine. Got fed up unlocking the same 4 everytime so ive taken them off, cant see its made any difference to the job its doing, seed going in the ground still so ive carried on without them for now

Also be interested on views as to which type of roller/packer to go for..
If you want to drill wet heavy ground steel toothed packer seems to leave it looser to drill into than rubber tyre / wedge ring in our experience but that was possibly something to do with which coulter was drilling behind than the packer

how about a coulter for a horsch like this. Allows trash to flow past it, no clogging, testing it at the moment. Working very well.

Horsch pronto counters on mine to, we’ve drilled into some right wet sh!te in the past! If they won’t bury the seed or block you really shouldn’t be in the field.
we have quite a bit of this sort of stuff

Doesn’t do a bad job

The wheels give excellent depth control and firm the seed in.
