BEST MASSEY TO GET

personally given the choice I would go for the 6265. We've got a 6265 and a 365 Massey, the 6265 is in a different league for comfort and will be more powerful and heavier duty than the 372. if you're buying it once you might as well buy a little more power and comfort than you need than regret it later.

6265 only thing might be an odd electric issue but very few. They'll not devalue anymore now any way, Ive had one 5+ years 7500 hrs now with loader on. Far far better quality and nicer to drive than the smaller mf of similar age

Go for the 6265 IMO.
If you don’t want it let me know where it is please!
6200 series is renowned as one of the best Massey ever made: I think the 6265 is four cylinder and about 115hp?

As for value, 6265 on auction? If it is in really good condition it could be anything from 12k if you are really lucky up to 20k or maybe even more if two people really want it. I don’t know what affect the current crisis is having on prices to be honest, but if you could get it for either side of £16k I would think you would do ok.

Just my opinion, what do others think?

105hp, pulls a lot better than say a 5460 that's exactly same.

62 definitely well sort after, 6290 being the main one.

How keen for one are you?
Mines y reg still loader 7500 hrs not particularly for sale but I want a bigger tractor for other jobs.

We bought a 6265 new in 1999 it was the worst tractor we have ever had the misfortune to own!!!

I have posted about it on here before,
It was an incredibly comfortable tractor to drive, even without any front axle or cab suspension. We specced it with 600 x38 rear and 480 x 28 Michelin tyres, don’t know if they helped the smoothness or not.
But by god it was the most unreliable piece of sh*t, which cost a fortune to look after.

Our family have owned and run Ferguson tractors since they were invented and that tractor had quite bearing on us changing colour.

So I’m afraid if the 372 was going to be man enough for the tasks that the op is requiring a tractor to do then it would get my vote.

Depends a bit on condition etc. I am always looking, but like you I am not in a particular hurry.

This is going to be a real classic negotiation! Welshman versus Yorkshireman!
Watch this space, this thread could run for months or even years.
Let’s just pray that no canny Scots try and join in the proceedings!

Well this canny Scot is definitely staying out of the proceedings.:)
Aye, for now it maybe so.
But just as me and the Yorkshire laddie are maybe getting close to a deal and just maybe dusting off the chequebook next January, and the price looks to be maybe keen right enough for ye tae maybe make a few shillings or so, you’ll be loitering around there right enough, and with yer purse strings maybe just a little looser than usual.....
