Very soft ground conditions here at the min and alot of full slurry stores. I am looking for a big set of flotation tyres etc to fit a jd 150r then we can go and help a few people out. Can you get terra tyres to fit a john deere 150r? or are they a thing of the past? will they be fit for 50k roadspeed? or should i be looking for some 900 or 1050 wide proper modern flotation tyres? does anybody know where i might be able to find some.
thanks for any help.

I'd say most terra tyres will be too small and I couldn't see them lasting long at 50k. 71/47/25 terras are the biggest I've seen, they'll do to replace 20.8r38 etc but they're rare. What size tyres are you on at the moment?

The tyres would have to match up to 650 65 r38’s or 710 60 r42. Either that or someone who can provide me with a full set all round

There's no way old cross ply Terras will put up with the speeds or loading of modern tractors and rig - probably why you can no longer get new Goodyears, only cheapo copies for the same rim sizes.

Modern high load, high speed radials are the only answer for your application, or maybe duals for field work, but not on the road.

You'll want as tall a tyre as possible. Is there anything around the axles that would prevent you fitting 32" rims?

Going by this table, your existing 710/60r42s could be changed for 900/60r32 or 900/50r42

We run 900-50 42 and 710-50-30 on the spreading tractor and it flows well, used to run 710-60-42 and 600-60-30 these were good bad well but both Tyres need the right pressure in them to work well

Yeh we have have a fleet of tractors on 710-60-42/s but we spend this time of year tip toe/ing around very wet fields not getting a full shift in because its to soft. Its time for a walk on water machine!!

If it’s that wet you’ll just make bigger tracks or get less grip pulling a pipe?
I’ve always thought that myself and part of my agrees...... but if I can just sneak an extra day at the start of the very small dry weather window and a extra day at the end of it then the big tyres would soon pay for them selves........

We run 710/60r42 Xeobibs on MF6480 for drilling and early spraying and have 900/60r32on removable centres on the combine we sometimes put on big tractor for drilling if we are all ploughed up. 710/60r42 are a better tyre for flotation, the combine tyres are quite hard in the sidewall and don't flex as well. Are your tyres Xeobib, if you don't have much load you can drop them very low.
