Canopy on Spring Oats

Growing some Spring oats for first time, hasn't had any PGR upto now due to dry April and May (15mm) but have now had 21mm of rain in last few days and was going to but 0.5l of Canopy on tomorrow but just looked this evening and a good proportion of the plants have boots splitting with upto 8 kernels showing!
Have I missed the boat?, What is very last stage that I could go at?
The oats have had 117 kg/ha Nitrogen (94 units/acre)
Following 2 crops of wheat but field doesn't normally lodge
I'm the combine driver!, Am I going to be cussing at Harvest??!!

It's too late now. Put a fungicide with rust activity on and shut the gate.

My oats are passed that stage and have had nothing except digestate. At about a foot tall, I think they will stand. Too late for chem now. Fungicide on ear. Shut door.

As above, it's too late for pgr. If you want to feel better about yourself by spending some money, stick liquid sulphate of potash or magnesium sulphate depending on what you're normally deficient in to help strengthen the plant cells but the best strategy would be to hope you don't get summer storms to flatten them and sort out a good set of lifters for the header. How tall are they? Some of mine are 9" tall having had 0.2 Moddus a while ago and no rain for over a month.

Pgrs reduce yield in the absence of lodging.

I was going through with Bittersaltz as well at 5kg/ha. Looks as though I'll leave the canopy out. Hasn't had any fungicide, still clean but could put some Epoxy/Pexan in to keep it that way.
They are about 18" tall" average. Hope we don't get any thunderstorms

If you have cultivated the soil I'd be more bothered about the lack of anchorage than the stems lodging. In a decent crop they bend in the middle but stay well off the ground anyway.

Same here, no pgr as been too dry. Went through yesterday with fungi and bittersaltz, they don’t look too leggy so hopefully we don’t get a summer deluge to lay them down before they’re cut.

0.3 Proline + 0.3 Comet/Flyer + magnesium on mine yesterday. Hopefully that's it until pre harvest desiccation if required (straw doesn't die normally). They look pretty clean but had mildew earlier on so had some Talius + teb at T1. £27/ha total fungicide spend on them all season.

Fortunately we left out all the Moddus and the Medax-Max on the SO, and on the WO, too, except for some headlands under the trees (about 10%).

If it all goes flat again this time I intend immediately to retire from combine driving mid-July, having cut all the WB.
