CAT Telehandler Hand brake issue

Hello

Somebody have any experience with this?

What happened was I had the machine with a local tyre fitter to change all new tyres. When I went to pick it up, the handbrake would not go off by itself after releasing the handle. I had to push it down. Its been like this for a few months. Im the only one driving it, so not a big problem. Im not blaiming the tyre fitter. Just odd.

Yesterday it started to not release even when pushing the handle down. Its on all the time. I never encountered a system like this before and dont know where to start.

I tried moving the levers on the axle in the picture by hand, but they seem stuck.

Any ideas?
Never mind. Probably bad wire

Common for the levers to sieze up, they let water in the top were the shaft going in to the axle and they rust up. the levers should be free to move by hand till they take up the free play in the brake discs. it is a very poor system with the spring set up like that, manitou have a spring pulling on each lever rather than a spring on the cable pushing them apart.

Yours look easy to get though.

Remove the cable, undo the counter sunk screw circled in red, MARK with a slitting disc the shaft and the arm as its on a fine set of splines, remove the arm/lever. Undo 3 cap screws circled in blue and remove the top support for the shaft, it will be full of rust. clean it all out and replace the oring in it then repack with grease and refit.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
