Well now trodax is not being produced dose the cows at housing I am looking at an alternative but all the injectables for fluke do worms as well.
On speaking to my vet I asked them about dosing mature beef cows for worms worried on two fronts
1) knocking the cows immunity to worms that they build up over a lifetime.
2) building a resistance into the worms by using the drug when it's not needed.
My vet has said that I don't need to worry about either if it is a housing dose as once a year is not going to effect either.
My brother who is with a different practice was told the opposite.
So what's everyone else using for there fluke housing dose this year and have any of you been told anything different by your vets about worming mature cows?
