OK, my head's ready to explode after thinking about this and talking to too many people.

Broadcast MAP in August
Foliar phosphate at 3 leaves
DAP in spring
Liquid APP in spring
Sewage sludge
TSP on cover crops
Place DAP with drill (don't have equipment for this anyway)

Don't know what to do!!!

Going to try dap treated with avail under osr at drilling ww will get eurofertill decoder under them at drilling outlying ww and osr fibrophos.

Can't do seed & fert at the moment.

Are you not putting on any P at all?

Current practice is to apply DAP in the spring which I don't think is good.

I'm going to separately try placed ammonium sulphate, elemental S and some placed MAP (if I can get it) at planting time and will then compare tissue P levels. We have (and you'll be similar I guess) about 6000 kg/ha total (all forms) of P205 so a fairly big bank to work with.

Don't forget fiberphos and chicken muck as well

DAP seems to be working well for me, I'm going to stick with that I think

I'm just the same.
I'm told on here that TSP is a waste of money, and I fear they may be right, because I've used tons of it for ages on clay ground with high Potassium, Mg and pH but very low Phosphate levels and it has not made a jot of difference.

I have DAP in the shed and I can now apply fert into the seed bed, but should I be putting that much nitrogen into a cereal seed bed? I can see that it is a plan for OSR, but what about beans?

The tests I've had done show more like 4-500kg/ha, which one do you need to get the total P?

DAP in the spring?

Dont know much about avail, but is it necessary on DAP, I would use it on TSP alright to prevent P being locked up but on DAP where there is N with the P is it a necessary expense? Dont know the answer just asking the question?

Generally good P levels here but im tempted to put just a touch of DAP maybe 50kg/ha of DAP (MAP if I could get it down with the seed) not much N there really. With spring legumes I have been using compost for a few seasons spread on frost in approx Jan and drilled into in Spring, done twice in 4 years and the best looking pea crops of the 4. Spring legumes not a huge need for P unless indexes very low IMO?

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
