The good news is that CF is going to produce CO2 again. The bad news is that the customers have agreed to pay a price, not the taxpayer. Price of CO2 gone from £200 to £1000 if that gives a guide to fertiliser prices. The 3 weeks of government aid are nearly over, gas prices are even higher now than when they last shut down
what happens next ? Looking at the global picture there is going to be massive N shortages fir 2022 crop, that’s going to really hit world wheat stocks
time to buy 2023 futures ? Certainly would not be selling any new crop forward guys !,,
this is all getting a little serious and out of control imo
So are CF making fert or not?
Yes but only at Billingham... or in other words, half potential capacity of their plants
Ah! But fert now is the by product?
Pleased I’m not paying for it, that’s 4 loads in the shed now and 1 load of N&SComing with an armed outrider yet?
Can you do so, and I would only dare contract produce of acres anyway..if a lot have swapped to beans because of high fert price it might be a good idea to fix bean price to wheat on a contract at 35 above wheat ?
Was spreading some today before all are under NVZOnly if you can spread all your slurry in the spring?!
hang on, you’re in Scotland? So that rule doesn’t apply?
Tale goes how a distant relative put his whole farm down to clover for seed in the late 40’s - paid for the farm in one harvestI am buying Futures in clover seed stocks...

High prices will mean higher production... and lower prices... the nitrogen thing wont have as much effect as a UK farmer might imagine, many acres are sown with the hope of 1 Tonne/Ac with very little inputs.. some places on the planet a farmer will think i will just do another days drilling and bingo, another 1000 acres. The 3 weeks of government aid are nearly over, gas prices are even higher now than when they last shut down

Apparently CO2 does have a value, and fertiliser may become the byproduct and pigs might fly.The 3 weeks of government aid are nearly over, gas prices are even higher now than when they last shut down

Don’t you mean die.Apparently CO2 does have a value, and fertiliser may become the byproduct and pigs might fly.
Billingham only makes Nitram, and any product currently being made is purely to deliver outstanding orders. The NS & NPK compounds are made at Ince for which CF have said yesterday .................... ' CF Industries’ Ince Complex in Chester, UK, will remain offline. The Company does not have an estimate for when production will resume at the facility'Anyone know if the N + s is made at Ince or Billingham? Or both
Clover seed was a crop that paid handsomely every few years, a bit like potatoes and onionsTale goes how a distant relative put his whole farm down to clover for seed in the late 40’s - paid for the farm in one harvest
Yes, low input, but not no input, those big air carts ain’t just full of seed, they hold phos and urea. Every farmer around the world will be doing the same calculations as you and I and many will be reaching the same conclusion.High prices will mean higher production... and lower prices... the nitrogen thing wont have as much effect as a UK farmer might imagine, many acres are sown with the hope of 1 Tonne/Ac with very little inputs.. some places on the planet a farmer will think i will just do another days drilling and bingo, another 1000 acres.
