Cheviot Mules

Can't beat them imo. Crop aswell as a N of E mule but much better lambs. Also have some shearlings for sale.

I bought 15 gimmes lambs as a trial 6 years ago. Still got 12 of them, now buying 70/80 every year. Will be upping them again this Autumn as I move the Swale/dalesbred mules out.

Very ignorant, bit flighty. But oh my lord I'm impressed with them. Crop the same as proper mules, better lambs, grow faster. Lamb as easy as any others, plenty of milk. Always the odd exception but they don't last long.

I do have the odd one push her guts out after lambing more than the Swale mules.

Actually, hang on.

CHEVIOT MULES ARE THE BANE OF MY LIFE, I NEVER WANT TOO SEE ANOTHER AS LONG AS I LIVE.

Doesn't do too encourage buying competition too much!!

I’ve never been to the Cheviot Mule sake at Longtown.
I thought it was just for very wealthy people!
So I’ve been told
80 top draw chevi mule ewe lambs last year from 1st sale, all 1st pens bar 1 second pen that I stood on for and no one shifted me.

Avg £106.70

On a pounds for quality basis, miles Cheaper than J36, Bentham and lightyears cheaper than the 2nd sale at Longtown!!

Drove across to longtown last year was a lovely day out, seen great lambs fit to top sold for 90 pound didnt think it was that dear of a sale for the quality of the stock, bought 100 2 yr old ewes privately have to say I was a bit disappointed with they're mothering ability but they do their lambs very well and have lovely ewe lambs to sell off them

Last years trade dropped. Everyone took their 2nd and 3rd draw to the 1st sale on the back of the big trade the year previous. Resulted in an over supply
