How much of a problem does this present to you cropping guys? An article in the guardian says it's tye most widely used pesticide in the UK. Sounds bad.
Spend more money. What we going to do for beans too?
It’s a very useful chemical, it works and it’s cheap. It would be interesting to know what the current Recommended list for wheat and barley would look like if CTL wasn’t used for the treated plots. Are the AHDB going to drop it from this years trials so we might gather some more useful data for our brave new world? How much of a problem does this present to you cropping guys? Every cloud has a silver lining.juts bought a few pallets - its cheap on Farm Marketplace right now and i'm reliably told prices will rise soon

Because the decision has been made before we have left and as things stand the UK has agreed to abide by decisions made before departure. But on the other hand nothing else we have been told seems to turn into reality so who knows. I expect it to go, if it doesn’t the so much the better. The UK didn’t vote against its revocation ....and we will have left the EU. So why are we going on as though the EU ban is a lost cause ?

Even if we do leave the EU, the UK will still have to fall in line with EU legislation if it wishes to trade with it.

If that is true how come we are getting gm foods, and commodities treated with chemicals that are already banned in Europe?Even if we do leave the EU, the UK will still have to fall in line with EU legislation if it wishes to trade with it.

That’s the only way you can use it!To be fair in the debate how many of us just chucked a litre of CTL in “just to be safe”
Out of sight is out of mind. Just import the food from elsewhere with no questions asked seems to be the current default policy. Just do it cheaply and get the environmental problem offshore!
